Daoist Returns, New Show Named Eight and a Half

Can't wait to swipe the card and pay... May, when will you transfer my money ah ah ah. The new show is priced at 299 for 80 episodes, basically meaning a one-year subscription. According to media commentary prices, it's fairly normal, like subscribing to a weekly newspaper or in-depth reporting.

I was watching anyway.fm when I saw their tweet and scrolled to it. The visual design of Daoist's new (old) show was done by Teacher Tiangesi, and only then did I learn that Daoist had actually returned in April. Daoist is a public intellectual I really like. He always comments on current events with a sharp perspective, although he doesn't admit to being a current affairs blogger. Despite being sharp, his remarks are always so gentle, with a beauty of stopping at the right point, or a playful ease and regret.

I checked and Daoist now has over 17,000 subscribers in just over a month. A rough calculation gives the team revenue of over 5 million, designed as a one-year subscription, averaging nearly 100,000 per month. Although I don't know how it compares to his previous income when working for others, congratulations to Daoist on a smooth first step of going solo!
